Grant round opens 28 January 2020 and closes at 6pm AEST on Monday, 16 March, 2020
National Foundation for Medical Research and Innovation (NFMRI) and Cure4 Cystic Fibrosis Foundation partnership.
In late 2018 Cure4 Cystic Fibrosis proudly partnered with NFMRI. The partnership will provide at least $750,000 to advance medical innovations in the area of cystic fibrosis over the next two years and is named the ‘Cure4 Cystic Fibrosis – Barbara Stow-Smith CF Innovation Grant’, in honour of the Foundation’s first bequest.
NFMRI, who receive advice and recommendations from an established Research Advisory Committee, manage and administer grants on behalf of Cure4 Cystic Fibrosis. Its role is to identify, evaluate and support innovative and high-quality research projects with a clear impact. These services are provided at no charge to Cure4 Cystic Fibrosis.
From January 2019 Cure4 Cystic Fibrosis expanded its grant program to the national scientific research community and offer grant funding opportunities to a competitive research market, Australia wide.
The broad reach of the NFMRI grant program to universities and medical research institutes across Australia, means that Cure4 Cystic Fibrosis can be aware of and potentially fund the best cystic fibrosis research initiatives across the country.
Our sole focus is to fund research that seeks to develop therapies or cures that will result in an increase in average life expectancy of people with cystic fibrosis with consideration given to quality of life.
Through collaboration with our cystic fibrosis community and investment in research we will help strengthen and expedite the delivery of research outcomes, and ultimately a cure for all people living with cystic fibrosis.
The partnership will provide at least $750,000 to advance medical innovations in the area of cystic fibrosis.
