Meet Fight Squad

Member, Danyelle

This month we spoke to Danyelle about what it’s like to be a part of CF Fight Squad.

How do you currently support the work of Cure4CF?

I am a member of the CF Fight Squad by making a monthly direct debt donation.

You’ve been a donor since April, and with many deserving charities competing for your support, why choose Cure4CF?

There are so many charities in Adelaide doing some amazing things, but Cure4CF is close to my heart. A close friend of mine from school has CF, and through him I have met more incredibly brave and amazing fighters. I have seen the direct impact CF has had on their lives, their family’s life and the heartache they suffer from a death in the CF community. I want to make an impact to enable the research into a cure for CF a reality.

Becoming a regular donor is an important decision.  What steps did you take to ensure you were comfortable with your decision?

For me I want to know that my regular donation is going to assist my chosen foundation to make an impact. The last few Cure4CF Impact Reports provided me with all the information I needed to make an informed decision. Reading about exactly what research Cure4CF is participating in and the impact they are having. Their overall cost of fundraising is low which is fantastic, and they have some great organisations supporting them.

In 2018 Cure4CF delivered the greatest source of funding, outside of the federal government in support of cystic fibrosis research and development.  How does it make you feel to know that you were a part of that achievement?

It was amazing to read this in the 2018 Cure4CF Impact Report. It’s a very proud feeling to know I have been able to contribute to this and will continue to contribute to. I can only hope that there will be a cure for CF in my lifetime.

What advice would you give to potential donors who are thinking of supporting Cure4CF but would like to know more?

Check out the last few years Annual Impact Report to understand the amazing work the foundation is participating in and the importance of finding a cure for cystic fibrosis. Or give them a call, it doesn’t take you long to hear how passionately they talk about the cause.
