BEQUESTS
A bequest is a compassionate and generous way to leave a lasting legacy.
Bequests Made In Your Will – A Lasting Legacy
Thank you for taking the time to consider giving to the Cure4CF Foundation in your Will.
A bequest is a gift made in your Will. Bequests can be made to a wide range of persons, including charities.
The Foundation is very grateful for the generous and compassionate gifts left by individuals in their Wills. Bequests help us support the leading gene therapy research team as they work towards finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis Airway Disease.
The types of bequests that you can make to the Foundation are:
- A specific bequest , being the gift of a specific sum of money or specific asset (for example, a house, land, shares, art works, antiques or other property).
- A bequest of your entire estate or a specified percentage of your entire estate (after all debts and expenses have been paid).
A residual bequest , being what remains of your estate after all debts and expenses have been paid and other gifts distributed (or a specified percentage of your residual estate)
The following wording is a guide for your bequest in your Will:
I give [description of bequest] to the Cure4CF Foundation Limited for its general purposes. The receipt of the Secretary or other officer of that organisation will be sufficient discharge to [my Trustees/executors] and [my Trustees/executors] are not required to see to the application of that gift.
The Foundation recommends the seeking of professional estate planning and legal advice for those who have complex estate planning arrangements or significant assets.
