Cure4CF and Lung Foundation Australia unite to strengthen bronchiectasis research

Cure4CF is proud to join forces with Lung Foundation Australia (LFA) to strengthen research into  bronchiectasis – a chronic lung disease that affects many in our cystic fibrosis (CF) community.

Together, we’re launching this partnership by co-funding a $5,000 travel award through LFA’s Hope Research Program. The award will support an early or mid-career researcher or health professional working in bronchiectasis related to CF to attend the 2026 World Bronchiectasis Conference in Hanover, Germany.

Applications from those intending to present their research as a poster and/or oral abstract are highly encouraged, with funding available to cover airfares, accommodation, registration, travel costs and daily expenses.

Cure4CF CEO Suzy Dimaline says:

“This partnership with Lung Foundation Australia is a powerful step forward for our CF community. By working together, we’re enabling scientists to explore new frontiers in bronchiectasis, fast-tracking discoveries that could transform care and improve outcomes for people living with cystic fibrosis. Together, we’re turning collaboration into impact, and hope into real progress.”

Lung Foundation Australia’s General Manager of Clinical Programs, Research and Innovation Alicia Goodwin says:

“Lung Foundation Australia is proud to partner with Cure4CF, and support an early-mid career researcher or health care professional to attend the 2026 World Bronchiectasis Conference in Hanover, Germany. Together we are building capacity, fostering collaboration, and creating meaningful opportunities for our future leaders.”

By working side by side, Cure4CF and LFA are not just funding research — we’re building connections, supporting the next generation of scientists, and driving innovation that brings us closer to better treatments and life-extending solutions.
